*. Tặng những người biểu tình ngày 09/12/2012
nếu một ngày tôi phải vào tù,
tôi muốn được vào nhà tù Cộng sản,
ở nơi đó tôi gặp những người ngay,
ở nơi đó đồng loại tôi đang sống.
nếu một ngày tôi phải vào tù,
tôi muốn được vào nhà tù Cộng sản,
ở nơi đó giam giữ Tự do,
giam giữ những trái tim khao khát Sống.
nếu một ngày tôi phải vào tù,
tôi muốn được vào nhà tù Cộng sản,
ở nơi đó giam giữ những nhà thơ,
giam giữ kẻ ngủ hoang để thức tỉnh muôn đồng bào vô thức
bắt nhà thơ giam vào trong ngục tối,
là mở ra ngàn thiên thể Tự do.
bắt Tự do giam vào trong ngục tối,
là mở ra ngàn thơ tứ Con người.
nếu một ngày tôi phải vào tù,
thì chắc chắn là nhà tù Cộng sản,
bởi vì tôi khao khát Tự do.

communist jail I’d like to stay
where I see outspoken ones do only true way
where my congeners live or may…
if I have to be in prison one day
communist jail I’d like to stay
where liberty’s immured no can say
where hearts desire for living but force to delay
if I have to be in prison one day
communist jail I’d like to stay
where locks up poets who’ve never been wrong play
where forces ones stay up late in prison to awaken all unconscious people nowadays
poets are detained up the river
that means thousands of free celestial bodies are upper
liberty is restrained up the river
that means thousands of poems of Humans are great liner
if I have to be in prison one day
certainly communist jail I’d like to stay
because I desire Liberty does strongly say

Hỏi hắn xem có mẹ cha tiên tổ?
Hãy nhìn thẳng vào mắt kẻ bắt anh
Hỏi hắn xem có vợ con nòi giống?
Hãy nhìn thẳng vào mắt kẻ bắt anh
Hỏi hắn xem phải chăng cha ông chưa bao giờ đổ máu
Hỏi hắn xem đất dưới chân đang da diết kêu gì?
Hãy nhìn thẳng vào mắt kẻ bắt anh
Hỏi hắn xem hắn sẽ nói gì
Nếu mai này con cháu hỏi:
Hắn ...hắn...làm gì khi đất mẹ bị doạ đe
Hắn làm gì khi Tổ quốc lâm nguy
Khi người ta xuống đường Biểu Giương tình yêu Tổ quốc
....
Cha đi làm lính dùi cui,
vung đập xuống những đồng bào cha yêu nước
Cha đi làm lính nồi niêu,
bảo vệ cái xoong, gùi tiền cho con đi Bar, đi xe sang, đi du học.
Cha đi, cha đi...
Thằng cha đó nó đi...
Đi đi đi đi
Cứ đi
đi
.....
Thực ra thì nó có đi được đâu
Nó đã chết lâu rồi, từ phút đầu được sống
Nó là cái xác, cái dùi cui di động
Cái nồi xoong đồi bại đồi trụy
Đừng nhìn vào ánh mắt kẻ đi bắt người ta,
anh sẽ chẳng thấy chút con người ở đó
hãy cứ đi làm việc của mình
Chính trị là việc của Cấp Trên
Việc của tôi là xuống đường yêu nước
Hòa bình cũng quý như áo, cơm,
nhưng đất mẹ là máu trong tim từ thuở cha ông chưa bao giờ ngừng đập

Look your captor straight in the eye
Ask him if he has his parents and ancestors?
Look your captor straight in the eye
Ask him if he has his wife, children, and race and national origin?
Look your captor straight in the eye
Ask him if his forefathers have never shed blood?
Ask him under his feet what things make native land be dedicated to cry?
Look your captor straight in the eye
Ask him what he would say
If tomorrow his children ask
He...
What he would do...when Motherland was threatened?
What he would do when Fatherland was in danger?
As protestants have taken to the streets To Demonstrate their patriotism
...
Your dad was soldier who used truncheon beating his patriotic people
Your dad wasn’t courage fighter, just an embezzler who protected his unrighteous interests,
saved his illegal money, let you went to snack bar, let you drove luxury car, let you could study abroad.
Your dad goes, he goes...
That bad guy goes...
Go, go, go, go, go...
Just go
Go
...
By the way he wouldn’t go any where
He took his out in a box, even from the first time in his life
He was six feet under, a mobile truncheon,
a mediocrity, a good-for-nothing.
Don’t look your captor straight in the eye
Because you couldn’t see human feelings in his

Politics are major jobs of senior officers
All I have to do is demonstrating my patriotism
Peace is great value as like as our basic human needs
So Motherland is blood in my vein, like our ancestors’ heart blood never stop

tôi chưa thấy một đêm nào dài thế,
bốn ngàn năm, giờ lại ngót trăm năm.
hết phong kiến độc tài, đến lũ bạch tuộc thực dân,
hết quân, hết vương, đến lũ tượng thần chủ nghĩa.
bao thế hệ siết rên trong gọng kềm nô lệ.
chuyên chế dã man đục rỗng chí con người.
cha tôi, ông tôi, bao thế hệ ngủ vùi.
tôi chưa thấy một đêm nào dài thế.
không ánh mặt trời, bóng tối chí tôn,
lũ quỷ ám thừa cơ toàn trị,
khủng bố dã man, reo rắc những kinh hoàng,
biến lẽ sống thành châm ngôn "mày phải sợ".
mày phải sợ mày ơi mày phải sợ,
sợ nữa đi có sợ mãi được không,
cốt tủy mục rỗng rồi trí óc cũng tối đen,
mày lại đẻ ra lũ cháu con "biết sợ".
bao thế hệ đã ngậm ngùi mắc nợ,
lũ chúng ta lẽ nào lại mắc nợ mai sau,
còn chần chừ gì mà không tỉnh dậy mau,
sống cho xứng danh xưng con người trên mặt đất.
tôi chưa thấy một đêm nào dài thế,
cũng chưa thấy có ngày mai nào không thể.
vì người ta cần ánh mặt trời,
tỉnh dậy đi lũ chúng ta ơi!

I have never seen so long was the night
four thousand years, then nearly hundred years, why?
from feudal-dictatorial systems to colonial octopus were in line
And lords, kings, and a gang of idols abused our minds
being ill-treated like slave made our generations moan and sigh
savage and tyrannous rulers forced to destroy our will uncountable times
my grandpa and dad’s ages were dead to the world never mind
I have never seen so long was the night
no sun, darkness was supreme king made us cry
a mob of devils inside took advance of our human rights
terrorist organization used of violence against civilians days and nights
sinking their lives in terrible motto "fear itself," though they no liked
you had to fear, you had to fear, no could say bye
fear itself, more fearful than, fear forever, all right?
your decayed bodies and your defective intelligences were dark no light
your offspring had to know "fear itself" all the times
several of our generations grieved for debt of fear too tight
we wanted to boycott fear tommorow, or we no might?
wake up, don’t hesitate or ignore because of our precious lives
let’s live as like as human rights are alongside our sides
I have never seen so long was the night
I also know tomorrow is another day none can lie
sun people need is right and nice
let’s wake up because of our precious lives

Nguyễn Đắc Kiên tôi chưa thấy một đêm nào dài thế,
